Under the program “Child’s Heart”, Belarusian Children’s Fund presented Republican Research and Practice Centre (RRPC) endoscopic equipment of last generation (Olympus, Japan).
This equipment is going to be used for preparation children for surgery as well as in postoperative period.
We hope that modern surgery equipment will help many people to recover as soon as possible!
Such a present for children is cooperative efforts of several organizations. Belarusian Children’s Fund acknowledges the tendance of the health of little patients of RRPC Children Surgery from the company ALC (Additional Liability Company) “Geol-M” (the director – Mr. Ladutscko). Company’s management team has made a decision to sell so important for children endoscopic equipment at the most beneficial price. Belarusian Children’s Fund, in its turn, gave the equipment to Children Surgery free.
Earlier Belarusian Children’s Fund presented the following equipment to RRPC Children Surgery: extracorporeal oxygenation system for new-born children, two cardiostimulators for resuscitation, special infant formula for new-born children for pre- and postoperative nutrition, the thinnest surgical gloves for the most complicated operations, expendable surgery materials.
The program “Child’s heart” is one of the oldest and socially important programs of the Fund. It has been carried out since 2000 under the common project of Belarusian Children’s Fund, International Charitable Fund “Child’s Heart” (Memphis, USA) headed by its medical director, cardiovascular surgeon William Novik, Children Cardiac Center RRPC “Cardiology” with support of Ministery of Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus.
There have been 23 visits of foreign specialists over 15 years, in the course of which 473 children were operated; more than 2000 ones got competent advice. Specialists from 11 countries took part in international teams under Mr. Novik, including the specialists from USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Croatia, Lithuania and other countries.
Belarusian Children’s Fund carries out rehabilitation and wellness program “Jolly Hearts” for children who have been operated on heart or have cardiovascular system diseases. Over 10 years 430 critically ill children were recovered.
